Purpose

The Human Resource Manager is accountable for managing all Human Resource (HR) functions such as: implementing HR operational strategies, analysing business information and leading HR and business project initiatives, proactively engaging in employee relations issues, managing candidate staffing, selection and community outreach, employee development activities, and managing programs, policies and procedures in support of the company culture.

Responsibilities

  • Employee Relations - ensure proper coaching of managers to improve employee performance and engagement
  • Provide HR Business Partner support to the local leadership team with particular focus on driving the talent strategy, including robust succession plans and developing internal talent, along with the recruitment
  • Compensation - Ensure competitiveness and alignment with regional HR plans
  • Workforce and succession planning - in close cooperation with the leadership and local HR teams, identify future resourcing needs, build succession plans and proactively identify resourcing options to close potential resourcing gaps
  • Recruitment - Support recruiting process for most senior/critical positions in the region and liaise with in-country recruiting teams to drive recruitment at a local level
  • Talent development - Manage talent review process, performance management, and employee development programs
  • Training - Coordinate the training needs and training planning activities with the leadership teams, leveraging programs delivered by Regional HR L&D teams
  • Stakeholder Management
  • Liaise and develop relationships with organization counterparts in communications and change management
  • Deliver an exceptional quality of service to the leadership team, as reflected by stakeholder feedback

  • Budgeting - support the leadership team with talent related budgets
  • Compilation and analysis of people data to drive decision making
  • Enhance the organization's human resources by planning, implementing, and evaluating employee relations and human resources policies, programs, and practices
  • Maintain the work structure by updating job requirements and job descriptions for all positions
  • Support staff by establishing a recruiting, testing, and interviewing program; counselling managers on candidate selection; conducting and analysing exit interviews; and recommending changes
  • Prepare employees for assignments by establishing and conducting orientation and training programs
  • Manage a pay plan by conducting periodic pay surveys; scheduling and conducting job evaluations; preparing pay budgets; monitoring and scheduling individual pay actions; and recommending, planning, and implementing pay structure revisions
  • Ensure planning, monitoring, and appraisal of employee work results by training managers to coach and discipline employees; scheduling management conferences with employees; hearing and resolving employee grievances; and counselling employees and supervisors
  • Implement employee benefits programs and inform employees of benefits by studying and assessing benefit needs and trends; recommending benefit programs to management; directing the processing of benefit claims; obtaining and evaluating benefit contract bids; awarding benefit contracts; and designing and conducting educational programs on benefit programs
  • Ensure legal compliance by monitoring and implementing applicable human resource federal and state requirements, conducting investigations, maintaining records, and representing the organization at hearings
  • Enforce management guidelines by preparing, updating, and recommending human resource policies and procedures
  • Retain historical human resource records by designing a filing and retrieval system and keeping past and current records
  • Cultivate professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional societies
  • Complete human resource operational requirements by scheduling and assigning employees and following up on work results
  • Manage human resource staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees
  • Advance human resource staff job results by counselling and disciplining employees, and planning, monitoring, and appraising job results
  • Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed
  • Identify business development opportunities and prepare an action plan to achieve the goals
  • Have in-depth knowledge of business services and value proposition
  • Collaborate and work alongside other departments and stakeholders in the business

Qualifications

  • University graduate, preferably post-graduate specialization in Marketing or Business
  • 3+ years of experience in a supervisory role
  • Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university or similar work experience required
  • 5+ years of experience in progressively responsible human resource roles
  • 3+ years of experience in Labor Relations and Employee Relations
  • PHR/SPHR certification preferred
  • Experience in managing multiple timelines; tight deadlines; constraints
  • Proven track record of success in a high-energy, fast-paced environment
