Purpose
The UX Developer designs websites, applications, and programs to optimize both functionality and aesthetics. He or she works with back-end developers, front end UI developers, and web developers to ensure that the product can be accessed successfully across a variety of devices and is still presented attractively. The UX Developer must be an adept communicator and able to collaborate well with team members and members of other departments. He or she works with internal stakeholders to ensure their functional needs and expectations are met and the product is aesthetically pleasing in terms of layout, colors, fonts, and menu navigation. The UX Developer plans the layout of the product, tests and evaluates prototypes, optimizes it across devices, and analyzes data to ensure client enjoyment.
Responsibilities
- Conduct testing of completed applications, websites, and software to assess user experience
- Combine interface design concepts with digital designs
- Successfully code to develop the aesthetic aspect implemented within a website or application, including product layouts, drop-down menus, colors, fonts, etc.
- Enhance the user experience by developing seamless navigation through a variety of digital programs and interfaces
- Utilize user surveys to research, analyze, and evaluate areas of needed improvement in terms of user's ease of use
- Collaborate with back-end developers and programmers to improve usability
- Build storyboards to conceptualize designs and convey project plans to clients and management
- Conduct periodic audits as required and address potential issues
- Develop knowledge of the products and services offered by the company.
- Collect data to improve and respond to relevant customer care performance metrics.
- Plan, design, and develop web applications and web pages using code and visual design tools
- Collaborate with members of the development team to design a variety of web applications and programs
- Build prototypes of creative design concepts as needed
- Test ideas on the web, troubleshoot, and develop complete website organizational structures
- Present web design plans and ideas to management, analyze customer experience, and evaluate user interfaces in order to identify areas of improvement
- Develop and maintain detailed UX specs and documentation
- Attend developer demos to ensure designs were implemented correctly

Qualifications
- A bachelor's degree in computer science, web development, mobile computing, graphic design, or a similar field is required, Master's preferred
- At least 5 years of experience as a UX developer is preferred
- A solid portfolio of past successes
- Coding skills including HTML, Flash, CSS, Angular & Node.js
- Graphic design skills including the Adobe Creative Suite
- Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills and the ability to optimize code for continuous improvement
- MS Office knowledge
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to multi-task, and remain detail oriented
